The first time you will likely encounter rhinoes is in Stygia's Khopshef Province. There is a quest to collect their horns for a merchant in Khemi.
Rhinoceros is very useful in siege battles in Age of Conan, they are specialized in the destruction of the doors and the damages to the players in AoE. Also second fastest mount in game besides the horse.
