The Red Shadows, also known as the Shadows of Terror, were the spirit-servants of the demon-god Xotli. They cound be conjured forth by the Antillian wizard-priests of the Hierarch of the Sacred Mysteries of Xotli.
The Red Shadows menaced the Hyborian kingdoms during the reign of King Conan the Cimmerian. They would swarm their victims before the unfortunate individual disappeared completely, presumably teleported into the abyss to feed the hunger of Xotli, who feasted on human souls.
The Red Shadows accounted for the demise of many Aquilonians, including Count Trocero of Poitain.
