Hello my name is Jason Stone and I am one of the excellent NPC designers here working on Conan. My main areas of responsibility are with NPC/Monster design and implementation with a strong focus on our combat system. I spend a lot of time working with combat implementation and gameplay aspects in our behavioral control center (BCC). The BCC is where we handle states, state transitions, movement, and animation timing.
I come from a five year background in the industry where I formerly worked at Sony Online Entertainment on Everquest, Everquest 2, and Star Wars Galaxies. I joined the team back in September and made the move over to Oslo Norway. I am very excited to be working with the deep and lustful world of Robert E. Howards Conan. (I was so inspired I had to start hitting the gym)
I'm a huge gamer and play all types of games obsessively. I also enjoy snowboarding and auto racing, the latter being less accessible here in Norway but I am passionate about it nonetheless. Looking forward to getting to know the community.
Edit from Jason StoneEdit
Wow a lot has happened in the last couple years and this is a bit outdated. I work heavily with Jayde and the others on the Balance team, along with Einride our main combat/control programmer. I work with what the character can do, how it looks, how it feels etc. Lots of fun stuff getting to bash on your coworkers while testing and tweaking classes and PvP.
I just recently left Oslo to move back to the US to be with my fiancé as I am engaged to be married in October. (funny coincidence) I am continuing to work on Design for Conan from the US and am happy I get to keep working on the game until it is finished.
