Assassin - Level 20
Assassin - Level 20 Close Up
Assassins are the most lethal killers in Hyboria. Those aspiring to the top of this profession face the most deadly regime of training, discipline, and study, but the ones that survive are executioners supreme.

No other class can deliver blows as deadly as an assassin. Their arsenal of lethal combos is complimented by their ability to slip past enemies unseen.

Assassins can dual wield daggers with lightning speed and can modify their attacks against specific targets, such as unholy attacks against heavily armored foes, or poison attacks versus mana users. Few can stand against an assassin in combat.

Specialties:

  • Dual-wielding daggers
  • Option of using either bonus poison damage or bonus unholy damage
  • Draining soul essences to use with special attacks
  • Damage-over-time
  • Damaging disorienting
  • Slowing poisons
  • Restorative elixirs.

Skills:

  • Bandaging
  • Recovery
  • Fast Recovery
  • Endurance
  • Running
  • Skulk
  • Climbing
  • Hiding
  • Perception

[[Assassin in combat]]

Assassin combat is based on approaching enemies while cloaked in stealth and starting the combat with stealth attack. Stealth attack is a directional melee attack, made out of stealth, and it does very high damage with considerable chance of critical strike. After the first stealth attack, the Assassin will continue with follow-up combos to finish the fight:

  • Lethargy line to reduce enemy damage
  • Slow Death line to afflict enemy with poison or unholy DoT
  • Cunning Strikes and Swift Strikes lines to cause direct physical damage
  • Corrupting Strike against highly armored/high health mobs, to reduce their invulnerability ratings

Assassin has no integral crowd-control, but can gain some from Feats. Assassin crowd-control is mostly used to interrupt enemy spellcasting and/or stop a running enemy to make it easier for assassin to hit with his combos.

Assassins are very fragile in taking damage and should maximize their damage in combat or risk death. DoTs are a vital part of combat for assassin and should be applied because they can often finish off an enemy that has been worn down to little health.

Assassins in Age of Conan specifically are cloth wearers, and therefore have little health compared to other higher armour value wearing classes. As an example, a level 28 Assassin has around 800 health with 1100 or so stamina.

This of course is affected/able by Feats, food buffs and spell buffs as well as gear and in no way should be taken as a sticky figure.
