Age of Conan Armor comes in several flavors: Cloth, Light, Medium, Heavy, and Full Plate.

In addition to the plain varieties of armor available, both weapons and armor with additional characteristics is available. Types identified so far include:

Vitalic + Natural Health Regeneration

[edit] Theorycrafting

Armor has a base Defense Rating Value, and may have additional values such as +Piercing Invulnerability or +Wisdom, etc.

As of 30 May 2008

Testing with a Level 12 Dark Templar shows that the character has an innate (naked)

Defense Rating of 28. Attack, Magic, and Magical Resists are 45. Every other resist is 0

+0.1 Defense Rating shoes adds 1 Defense Rating point (28 - 29).

+1 DR Shield yielded 1 Defense Rating point (28 - 29).

+2 DR pants yielded 2 Defense Rating Points (28 - 30).

+0.1% Slashing Invulnerability Pants yielded 0.1% Slashing Invulnerability. Adding a +0.2% Slashing Invulnerability Chestpiece to the Pants yielded only +0.1% Slashing invulnerability, for a total of +0.2%.

+0.3 DR Gloves yielded 1 DR.

Adding the same +0.1 DR shoes AFTER all the other listed gear yielded no change to DR. (from 35 to 35)

Stacking a variety of +0.1,+0.2, and +0.3 DR pieces did yield 1 point DR increase. Adding +0.03 Piercing Invulnerability shoulders yielded +0.0 Piercing Invulnerability, but the stat turns green, so it is presumed that the game client tracks more decimals than it displays.
